INTRODUCING AFRICA YOGA PROJECT + HERE TO BE

THE CHALLENGE

Introduce the world to lululemon's new social impact program, Here to Be, through one of its global partners, Africa Yoga Project. Support the Here to Be program in its mission to work with partners to help make the benefits of yoga and meditation more accessible.

THE CREATIVE

In March of 2016, I flew to Kenya with a small film crew to meet Africa Yoga Project and to document one of their teacher training cohorts. I wrote three longform pieces to introduce our guest to our new partner and to support the hard-hitting film. (Psst. you can watch the film here.)

WHEN IN NAIROBI

To celebrate the strong sense of community that is at the core of both Africa Yoga Project and lululemon, I wrote a piece about what we found when we explored energetic Nairobi.

WHAT IS BAPTISTE YOGA?

Africa Yoga Project was co-founded by Paige Elenson and her teacher Baron Baptiste, who is also the founder of Baptiste Yoga. This specific style of yoga and its teachings are integral to the Africa Yoga Project programming.

GET TO KNOW PAIGE ELENSON

The last piece I wrote for this campaign was a profile on Africa Yoga Project co-founder Paige Elenson. A former New Yorker who followed the signs that led her to Nairobi, Paige's story is a testament to the power of serving others.
